Condolences
The Moffett Family, My condolences on the passing of Dick. I had the pleasure to work with Dick as a Rookie Road Patrol Deputy in C Zone. Dick would always meet with us in the most obscure locations in C Zone and would laugh when we finally found him. Dick selected me to be a K9 Handler with Marc and was instrumental in recommending that I get promoted to Sgt. with Marc. Dick was a Great Mentor and Loved the K9 Unit. He was extremely proud of all of the K9 Teams and our success. Dick was our biggest fan and worked hard to get our Unit more K9 Teams, more Training and Better Equipment. He was an excellent Bloodhound Handler and was a wealth of knowledge in Tracking and shared his experience with numerous Teams throughout the Country. Dick also handled a Narcotic Detector Dog while assigned to the Airport. Dick would attend numerous K9 Seminars with Jan Scofield, Jeff Gates etc. and enjoyed working with all types of dogs. We had a lot of Fun socializing as well. May God Rest His Soul.

Dick you will be missed by your family and friends, but not forgotten. You left an indelible mark of human dignity and compassion on all of us touched by you. Many of us met you through your passion and participation in the canine community. You were Suzy's and my trainer and mentor through out our K9 search and rescue endeavors. I'm sure you will be met at the "pearly gates" by
St. Peter but also St. Francis of Assisi (patron saint of animals) and St.Hubertus (patron saint of hounds). Rest in Peace
Continued thoughts and prayers to Dick and family from the Gerew family.
I worked with Dick for 23 years at the sheriff's office. He was always a pleasure to be with and he was extremely dedicated to the K9 unit. Dick was very proud to be a member of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. God Bless Dick and his family.
