Obituary of Stuart G. Carter
Rochester - Stuart G. Carter, 78, died unexpectedly at his home in Rochester NY on June 18, 2021. A native of Glens Falls NY, he graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1960 and from the University of Rochester in 1964. He lived in the Rochester area for the rest of his life. He was a private investigator. Stuart was predeceased by his parents, Robert C. Carter, Jr., and Carolyn F. Carter, and his wife, Elaine S. Carter. He is survived by his brother, Robert Allan Carter (Paula) of Saratoga Springs NY and his sisters, Katherine C. Ewel (Jack) of Gainesville FL and Carol A. Carter of San Francisco CA.
Stuart was a man of many interests. He was a talented musician in his youth and was an early environmentalist, including an advocate of using windmills as a source of energy. Most of all he loved sailing on Lake Ontario with Elaine and was an active member of the Genesee Yacht Club. He also had a life-long interest in the Adirondack Mountain region and was a close follower of the Buffalo Bills.
