Obituary of Jean M. Toal

Jean M. Toal, Home at Last, November 22, 2017 with Jeremy by her side.

Jean is predeceased by her beloved husband, Al Toal, Jr.; her parents Samuel and Adeline Manuele; her brother James Manuele; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas  (Sharon) Toal, Joann (E. John) Ingham, Elaine (Phil) Marshall, and Robert Ingham.

Jean is survived and cherished by her children Kathleen (James) LaValley, Al (Linda) Toal III, Tim (Sue) Toal, Wendy Roets, Kathryn (Blake) Avery, and Jeremy (Dyanne Rousseau) Toal.

Jean is also survived and loved by her grandchildren Carol, Joanne, Heidi, Holly, Chrissy, Becky, Michael, Arynn, Lisa, Shannon, John, Amanda, Danielle, Zeb, Gideon and Owen; along with several great and great-great grandchildren. Jean is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Sharon Manuele, Jack (Doris) Toal, Bernie (Nancy) Toal, Geraldine Ingham, Teresa  (Ray) Veness and Pauline (Ed) Klaver; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean was fiercely independent and never complained about her circumstances. Her family was her life. She and her husband opened their home and hearts to many foster babies through Catholic Charities in the late 60’s, in addition to raising their own children.

Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of St John’s Home - 3rd floor Hastings and Barb C from Optum Evercare for the loving care and friendship they provided Mom over the last 17 years. It means the world to us.

Per Jean's wishes, there will be no calling hours.  A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life Monday, November 27th at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Home Chapel, 150 Highland Avenue, Rochester, NY.
