Nancy Glenwright Murphy

Thousand Oaks, CA - formerly of Hilton, NY - Nancy (Glenwright) Murphy passed away here in California on November 6, 2024 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert D. Murphy in 2019. She is survived by her children, Douglas (Ann) Murphy of Omaha, NE, Scott (Marina) Murphy of Henderson, NV, and Wendy Fachini (George) Banfalvi, of Thousand Oaks, CA; her five grandchildren, Calvin (Rayna) Murphy, Erin Murphy (Tim Rittenhouse), Roger Fachini III, Briana Murphy, and Leo Murphy; her great-grandson, Desmond Rittenhouse; and eight nieces and nephews. Nancy was also predeceased by her sister and brother, Barbara MacLachlan and Earl Glenwright Jr.

Nancy was born on August 14, 1931 in Abington, PA. to Earl Sr. and Violet (Spring) Glenwright. She spent a delightful childhood in her father's confectionery store in Philadelphia -- where she was literally "the kid in the candy store".

After moving to Rochester, she married Bob Murphy on September 30, 1961, and they settled down in Greece to raise a family. In 1975, the family moved to Hilton. Nancy enjoyed being a homemaker and raising their children. She was a faith-filled Christian. After Bob's retirement from Kodak, they moved to Garden City Beach, SC for 20 years. Once Bob passed, Nancy moved to California to live with her daughter, Wendy. In her leisure she enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, playing Mahjong, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

A private family gathering will be held at the gravesite at a later date. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dewey Street, Churchville, NY 14428.
