Salvatore Pacelli

Obituary of Salvatore A. Pacelli

In Loving Memory of Salvatore A. Pacelli Jr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Salvatore A. Pacelli Jr. a beloved father, husband, and friend on August 30, 2024. He was 90 years old and experienced a well lived life.

Salvatore was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. His early career was spent at the Standard Brewery in Rochester; he then worked for Haloid and later Xerox where he dedicated 34 years prior to retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, and scuba diving. His charismatic personality allowed him to make friends everywhere he went.

Salvatore was a man of many talents, known for his incredible work ethic and unmatched ability to fix or build anything he set his mind to. His hands were as skilled as they were gentle, creating not just objects but memories and experiences that will last forever.

A man of great charisma, Salvatore had a natural charm and radiant smile that drew people in and left a lasting impression. Even in his later years, he was as handsome and vibrant as ever, a true testament of his lively spirit. Above all, Salvatore loved his family deeply. He was our anchor, guiding us with wisdom and love through life’s calm and stormy seas. His happiest moments spent were on the water, captaining his beloved boat with his family by his side.  Lake Ontario was his Sanctuary, a place where he found peace, joy, and contentment.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia; parents, Salvatore and Rose; and brothers, Adolph and Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Gregg (Cheryl) Pacelli, Colleen (Bill) Rogers, Kathryn (Roger) Dishong, Leda (Christian) Pacelli-Szabo, and Paul Viele; mother of Leda and Paul, Sheila Ferrett; sister, Angela Valentine; and many nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will carry his memory with them always.

Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever live on in our hearts.

Rest in Peace, Salvatore. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will sail on with us, guiding us just as you always have.

The Family would like to extend deep gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Mill Landing, Rochester Regional Health, and the Elizabeth G. and Jennifer J. Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center.
