Mina was a devout Roman Catholic, and a graduate of Nazareth Academy high school (1956), and Nazareth College – earning her degree of Bachelor of Music Education in 1974. Mina began her career as a church organist while she was in grammar school at St. Theodore’s Parish in Gates (1951-59), followed by Immaculate Conception (1958-66), before becoming choir director/organist at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (1966-1999). Her OLPH “Heavenly Angels” choir produced many music awards, holiday productions, and lifelong friendships. In her retirement, Mina continued to play the organ at St. Joseph’s, Our Lady of Grace, and St. Luke’s in Brevard County, Florida. She was also employed at St. Ann’s Community & The Heritage as a receptionist & hostess (1980-1995).

Mina was a member of Rochester’s Oratorio Society, Choral Club and Flour Town Players. She enjoyed attending Broadway musicals, and performing in local Rochester musicals, including her role as “Mabel” in Pirates of Penzance. She camped throughout the United States with her family in the 1960-70s, and enjoyed Caribbean cruises in her later years. Mina was a magnificent needle pointer who created many beautiful works for her family and friends.

Mina loved animals and her many pet cats, birds, and dogs including Ripper, Laddie, Nina, Tammy, Princess, April, and Lucky. She enjoyed playing cards including Euchre, Solitaire, and Canasta with friends while enjoying a cocktail, preferably a Bloody Mary or Highball. She enjoyed reading romance and adventure novels, listening to music (Mario Lanza “Be My Love”), watching EWTN, or a game show, favorite old movie (My Fair Lady or The Great Caruso), or a Rochester Red Wing baseball game.
