Obituary of Mary Sharon George

Hilton - M. Sharon George passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the age of 82.  She was predeceased by her parents, Casmer and Pauline Logan; John George; daughter, Betsy Caskey; son, Thomas George; and long-time partner, Mike Widman. She is survived by her devoted son, Michael George (Jessica); grandchildren, Tyler and Avery George and Brandon and Colin Peterson; great-grandson, Cole Peterson-Harvey; son-in-law, Zane Caskey; sisters, Sheila Flood (Donald) and Shirley Sidebotham (Bob); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

While Sharon was well known for her love of coffee and anything chocolate, taking care of her children was the real joy in her life. Her hobbies included traveling to faraway places (like Africa on safari with Mike) and nearby places (like Maine with her dear friend Susan Cunningham). She also enjoyed shopping, playing Tetris until her thumbs gave out, reading, going out to eat with her friends in the Moonbeams group each month, mother & daughter banquets at church each year, and holiday gatherings with family.

Sharon was devout in her faith - the church was a very important component of her life. Her calling was to help others and that led her to a professional career as a nurse. Her sole purpose was to extend care and compassion to those in need. Many were blessed to have received her love and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to attend Sharon's Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 158 East Avenue, Hilton. Interment will follow in Falls Cemetery, 1941 West Ridge Road, Greece. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
