Obituary of Wayne Edward Marks

Hamlin - Wayne Edward Marks passed away February 7, 2023 at the age of 81. He was born September 27, 1941 to his parents, Joseph and Lydia Marks, and then was brought to the waters of Holy Baptism.  He was the older brother to Ralph Marks.  On October 4, 1970 he married his wife, Cathy Ann.  He became a dad on February 29, 1972 when his daughter, Debra was born.  He became a grandfather in 2006 and 2010 to his grandchildren, Timothy and Kelly. 

Wayne was a retired field technician for Diebold, Inc. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and a Key Club Advisor.  He was active in his churches over the miles and years in many capacities, his favorite was being a Youth Leader.  He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid car racing fan.  He loved his family, traveling to spend time with them and visiting, in order to hear his son in law, Michael, preach Gods Word as a pastor.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lydia Marks; and his wife, Cathy Ann Marks.  He is survived by his brother, Ralph Marks; his daughter and son-in-law, Debra (Michael) Mathey; and his grandchildren, Timothy and Kelly Mathey.  

Friends are invited to his Memorial Service to be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00am at St. John Lutheran Church, 1107 Lake Rd. W. Fork, Hamlin, NY.  A reception will be held after the service, provided by the ladies of the Dorcas Society.
