Obituary of Allan N. Engelbert
Hilton - Allan N. Engelbert passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2022 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his wife, Ann (Baase) Engelbert (2019). He is survived by his children, Alayne Engelbert Doan, Arline (Bruce) VanDeWater, Andrew (Beth) Engelbert and Arthur (Laura Adams) Engelbert; his 10 grandchildren, Doug, Laura, Ben, AJ (Bryce), Josh, Jake, Joe, Julianna, Stacey (Rich) and Crystal; his 6 great-grandchildren, Abby, Douglas, Gianni, Theresa, Alexandra and Olivia; his sister, Norrine Nagel; his sister-in-law, Sandy Baase; his brother-in-law, Charles (Eunice) Baase; his first cousins, Carol Lange Ahern and Ethel Engelbert Berkhoudt; and several nieces and nephews.
Al was an employee of Frontier Telephone for many years before retirement. He had served in the US Army during the Korean War. His most enjoyable moments have been spent with his grandchildren. He was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he had served as elder and trustee, as well as singing in the choir. He belonged to the men's singing group "The Lutheranaires" with many of his friends over the years. He was a handyman and enjoyed camping and fishing in his spare time. He was also very interested in model trains and airplanes. He was an advocate for Camp Pioneer a Christian camp for children and families in Angola NY. He was a kind man who will be missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday, April 16th at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hilton. Interment will be held in Lakeside Cemetery in Hamlin at the convenience of the family.
