Obituary of Jean A. Akey

Kendall - Jean A. Akey passed away on February 5, 2022 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Akey; her daughter, Linda Akey; her son-in-law, Charles Ferguson; and her sister, Geraldine Fleck. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Ferguson; her grandchildren, Steve Ferguson and Amy (Paul) Johnston; her great-grandchildren, Paul and Kody; and her sister, Jackie Caswell. 

Jean was employed by Two Guys Department Store as a Sales Associate and was a member of the Retail Clerks Union. She was the first female in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and also worked as the radio operator at the Coast Guard station. She enjoyed boating and fishing, playing Majahn and Dominos and spending time with her grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4 - 7 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton. Jean's Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 16791-16853 Kenmore Rd, Kendall, NY 14476. Interment will be in the Spring in Beechwood Cemetery, 1523 W Kendall Rd, Kendall, NY 14476.
