Obituary of John S. Coffey

Rochester - John S. "Jack" Coffey passed away on September 2, 2021, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally; his children, Steven (Elizabeth) Coffey, Carolyn Barwald, and David (Collette) Coffey; his 7 grandchildren; his sister, Joan Coffey; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack retired from a career as a Heavy Equipment Instructor, Forman and Supervisor for the New York State Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Free Masons for over 50 years. He was a Red Cross volunteer and enjoyed traveling the world, visiting Australia, Europe, Norway, Greece, Alaska and Hawaii. He had a singing talent and sang in the Hilton United Methodist Church choir. In his leisure he enjoyed the great outdoors while hunting, fishing and trapping. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A Celebration of Jack's life will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 from 1-5 pm at the Donald Schlieter Lodge in Braddock Bay Park, 199 East Manitou Road, Hilton, NY 14468. Interment will take place in West Perry Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
