Norman Harris

Obituary of Norman E. Harris

Hilton - Norman E. Harris passed away on October 16, 2020, at the age of 80.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Ed (Heather) Harris, Jim (Ginny) Harris, and Debi (Don) Wenzel; his grandchildren, Abby (John) DeSantis, Tyler Harris, Alyse Wenzel, and DJ (Melissa) Wenzel; his brother, Gilbert (Wanda) Harris; his five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Norman was predeceased by his mother and father, Roy and Marion Harris; his siblings, Harland Harris and Gloria Kelly; and grandchildren, Beau and Ryan Harris.

Norm was a retired Kodak employee of 26 years. He worked in Plant Services as a dedicated Parking and Security Attendant where he plowed snow, repaired gates, and monitored parking lots. Norm could often be found tinkering in the garage or outside where he loved working in his vegetable garden. He was never one to turn down an opportunity to play euchre. Norm loved watching sports, especially the Buffalo Bills and the Syracuse Orangemen. He also loved woodworking, particularly crafting birdhouses, and veteran flag boxes.  Spending time with his grandchildren made Norm happy. Patiently teaching them to carve pumpkins, harvest potatoes from his garden and bake cookies. Many knew Norm as selfless and willing to help anyone, whether it was family, a stranger or neighbor, he would be there to lend a hand.

Friends may call, following CDC guidelines, on Saturday, October 24th, from 2-4 pm, at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton, where Norman's Memorial Service will immediately follow at 4 pm.  Private interment at Parma Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Upstate New York Chapter, 3300 Monroe Ave., Suite 319, Rochester, NY 14618, or online at https://www.arthritis.org/donate, or the Sally Edelman and Harry Gardner Cancer Research FoundationP.O.
