Obituary of Michael Thomas George

Michael (Mike) Thomas George passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2020.

Mike was born May 12, 1955 in Sidney, NY.  He attended Bainbridge-Guilford Central School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the State University of New York at Cortland.

Mike was committed to preserving and restoring the environment. He worked as a Construction Manager and Senior Engineer centered on environmental remediation projects for 35 years.   Mike’s incredible ability to maximize the resources available in addressing the challenges presented by the complex projects that he was involved with, as well as his ability to relate to each of the diverse people that he interacted with,  made him one of the most valued individuals in his field.

Mike was preceded in passing by his cherished wife, Bonnie.  He is survived by his sister, Coral Burns and her husband, Steve Burns; his brother, Dan George and his wife, Susan George; his brother, David George and his wife, Bambi George; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mike’s sense of humor, his devotion to tolerance and social justice, and his unending love for his family, in particular Bonnie, will be missed, but never forgotten, by everyone that he ever met.

Because of the current national crisis, there will be no services at this time.  Any future plans will be announced through this website obituary.
