David William Rockow

August 9, 1936 ~ December 21, 2019

David went Home to be with his beloved Lord Jesus and his son, Douglas on December 21, 2019 at age 83, after enduring many health problems. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Fred & Alma Rockow; his stepmother, Gertrude Schepler Rockow; his son, Douglas; and his daughter-in-law, Donna.  He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Lou; his sons, William (Diane Hennekey) Rockow and Michael (Pam) Rockow; his brother, Duane (Cherie) Rockow; his 7 grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Nichols, Bryon (Katie) Rockow, Jennifer (Rob Canfield) Rockow, Matthew (Jenny Perkins) Rockow, Hali Rockow, Alec Rockow and Avery Rockow; his 5 great-grandchildren, Clayton, Harrison, Desmond, Angela & DeAnna; his several nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends including Norm Baase and Neil Newman.

David was born August 9, 1936, Moscow Road in Hamlin, New York to Alma Caroline Wolf and Fred William Rockow.  He grew up loving being a "farmer boy"; schooled at St. John Lutheran School and then Brockport High School, graduating in 1954.  He married his "high school sweetheart", Mary Lou Dorgan on November 24, 1956; and was blessed with 3 sons, William, Michael and Douglas.  After farming, he became an "Ace" vending mechanic for A.R.A. and Marriot.  On retirement, Mary Lou and Dave moved to Kendall on the lake. Dave was a proud member of the Hamlin Fire Department and Exempts.  He enjoyed many sports, including watching the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Orioles (where they watched many games) and the Syracuse "Orange."

There will be no prior calling hours.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamlin on Friday, December 27th at 2 PM.  Interment will be held in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery in Hamlin.
