Obituary of Leroy J. Schmidt

Hilton: Leroy passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on September 19, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Schmidt; his daughter, Melinda Jiacobbe; his son-in-law, Rob Jiacobbe; his grandchildren, Robert (Sarah) Jiacobbe and Brian Schmidt, Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, R.J. Jiacobbe & Dillon Turner. Leroy was predeceased by his son Brian Schmidt, Sr.; his granddaughter, Kim Turner & his grandson-in-law, Jon Turner. Leroy served as a United States Marine from 1953-1955. He was a member of the Order of Masons for 50 years. He and his family moved to Franklinville, New York in 1989, the year in which he retired from Kodak. He enjoyed managing the baseball league at Kodak. He loved to golf and hunt and enjoyed the outdoors. Throughout his life he was a skilled electrician, plumber and woodworker. Above all, he loved his family. The Family extends a special thanks to Olean General Hospital and the Strong Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion.
