Obituary of Richard W. Schmidt

Richard W. Schmidt died February 23, 2015 at the age of 93. He is survived by his sister, Helen S. Briggs, a niece Ann Marie Gonyeau and husband David & a great niece and nephew Bryan and Emily. Richard was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was stationed at St. Lucia in the 9th Weather Squadron. After World War II, he made his home in Summit Point W.V. He lived here for 63 years before returning home to Kendall N.Y. In West Virginia, he ran a cider mill with his father until he started building homes. He graduated into building beautiful furniture pieces which will passed down for generations. He was also a member of the South Jefferson Ruritan Club for many years. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
