Obituary of Elizabeth Face

Elizabeth "Betty" Face (née Dedrick) of Livingston and Brockport, NY went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2015. She passed away at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY, with her daughter and granddaughter, Kayla, by her side. She was 77. Betty was born on October 2, 1937 and she is the daughter of the late Isabella and Howard Dedrick of Kinderhook Lake. Betty is predeceased by Claude Face, her husband of 53 years, who passed in January 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Dina Austin (Kevin), beloved granddaughters Krystle (Rahamane) and Kayla (Joe), and her grand puppy Daisy. Betty is also survived by her friend Beverly Gardner and many friends at the Clermont Bible Church. In 1956, Betty graduated from Ichabod Crane High School. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as a past matron of the Kinderhook chapter. Her favorite pastimes were talking, reading, shopping, cooking and baking, and watching Jeopardy. She loved the Catskill Mountains and lighthouses, and she made new friends wherever she went. If there is a lesson to be learned from Betty's life, it is to always be patient and kind to everyone. Those who kept Betty in their lives were blessed to have known her. Betty will be laid to rest with her husband on Friday, May 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Valatie. A celebration of Betty's life will be held in July at the Clermont Bible Church.
