Obituary of Loraine M. Klafehn

Hamlin - Loraine May (Bauer) Klafehn passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the age of 92.  She was predeceased by her son, Scott (1959), her brother, Harold Bauer and her sister, Velma Batty.

She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Dean; her children, Terry (Sharyn) Klafehn, Sally (Tom) Greer and Cindy (Bob) Bryant; her grandchildren, Kyle (Beth) Bryant, Ryan (Kristie) Bryant, Sheri (Tim) Parrinello and Deanna (Simon) Turner; her great-grandchildren, Grace Turner, Hannah Bryant, Logan Bryant, Jack Turner, Addison Bryant, Avery Parrinello, Bennett Bryant, Harper Bryant and Everly Parrinello; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Marion Rath, Karl (Barb) Klafehn and Adeline Klafehn; and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Loraine was a lifetime and very active member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving for many activities, especially crafting items for the annual bazaar.  She enjoyed making delicious, elaborate cakes, decorated for birthdays and weddings. She was an avid flower arranger, growing her own variety of flowers and proudly mapping out her gardens. She was a gifted seamstress and cook, among so many other creative activities. Her proudest current achievement was the fact that she still bowled in a league at the age of 92! She was so blessed and a blessing to us all.  She will be so missed.

Loraine’s Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamlin. Burial will be held privately at Lakeside Cemetery in Hamlin.
