Obituary of Carolyn R. Fose
Rochester - Carolyn R. Fose passed away on January 16, 2025 at the age of 63. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Marilyn Fose. She is survived by her siblings, Marty (Patti) Fose, and Lori White; her nieces and nephews, Bryen Fose, Tracy Winseman, Mike Winseman, and Abbey (Tim) Zevotek; her great nieces and nephews, Riley Fose, Alyssa Fose, Isabelle Winseman, Maximus Winseman, Jaxson Zevotek, and Maverick Zevotek; and many, loving aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
As a participant at Lifetime Assistance, Carolyn enjoyed residing in her group home at Andiron Lane and worked hard at the Paul Road facility in the collating department for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed actively participating in activities at Golden Opportunities /Greece Day Hab Facility.
Carolyn’s zeal for life was portrayed in many different ways:
Carolyn loved her family deeply. She looked forward to the many outings they took whether it was out to eat, camping, family gatherings, concerts/plays, shopping at Wegmans or Walmart, or just being out for a ride. Her quick wit or honest comments commonly brought a laugh or smile; however sometimes it brought “Carolyn…” followed by “I heard you” or “Oh, ok, sorry” and then a giggle. Carolyn was extremely competitive and enjoyed a good game of Yahtzee, Skip Bo, or Sequence. She loved to give High 5’s when she did a good job and/or when she won her game. When given praise, she always agreed with “That’s right.”
Another facet of her family who she loved dearly were her friends and staff at Lifetime Assistance. She was associated with this amazing agency for 42 years. The staff loved her as if she were their own. Many times they shared amusing comments or events that occurred. She became affectionately known as the house’s “Care Bear.” Throughout her brief illness, the Lifetime staff was in constant communication and demonstrated great concern not only for her, but her siblings as well. Thank you cannot begin to express the deep gratitude for the unwavering love that was shown to Carolyn during her association with Lifetime Assistance.
Carolyn had a deep love for Jehovah God and the congregations that she attended. She loved to make comments to express her praise to Jehovah. They gave much encouragement to those in attendance. Friends always looked forward to seeing her bright smile and the warm hug that was sure to follow. They enjoyed talking football with her; giving her a hard time about her beloved Cowboys and her friendly rivalry with the Buffalo Bills. She loved going for a meal afterwards.
After the death of her mother Marilyn in 2018, Carolyn grieved immensely. She came to love the scripture at Revelation 21:4. Where it reads: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” She always smiled when she heard this scripture. We now look forward to the time when this promise will come to fulfillment; when Carolyn will be reunited with her mom and dad and siblings as a vibrant and healthy young lady.
Until this time, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
The Fose family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the family and friends who have enriched Carolyn's life. We also have an unwavering gratitude to the staff of Lifetime Assistance who have cared for and supported her throughout her time with the agency. She lived life to its fullest and will be fondly remembered for her love of life and people.
