Obituary of Elke C. Baron
North Greece - Hilton - Elke C. Baron passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by Guenther P. Baron, former husband and loving friend; her parents and two sisters. Elke is survived by daughter, Jutta (Joseph) Rodrigues; and her grandchildren, Joey (Shannon) Rodrigues and Cody Rodrigues; and one sister.
Elke was born in Germany. Elke worked in a factory in Germany and met Guenther Baron, and they were married. Elke and Guenther moved to the United States around 1969 because he was offered an apprenticeship at Delco. Elke worked at Eastman Kodak on the assembly line, which she really enjoyed. She then moved to supervisor and eventually retired from Kodak.
Elke loved living on the lake, beautiful sunsets, fishing and boating. She loved cats - always bringing snacks to give to her daughter's kitties. She liked birdwatching, country music, country dancing, gardening, yardwork, household projects, owning more tools than most guys, and she was a huge Elvis fan.
Elke was a wonderful wife and, even when they divorced, invited Guenther over for holiday dinners and visited him at his senior retirement community. She helped him with anything he needed. They always remained friends. Elke was a wonderful mother and her daughter's best friend. She was the "cool mom" and always fun to be around. Jutta's friends really enjoyed her. Jutta stated that she was very fortunate to be the daughter of Elke.
Elke always loved visiting her son-in-law, Joe, and having a couple of beers with him. She liked listening to his funny jokes and silly stories. She enjoyed any time she was able to spend time with her grandchildren, Joey and Cody.
Elke was a wonderful friend to her "besties" Kay and Kay, and they were also were referred to as the "Golden Girls".
Elke will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 1:00 - 3:00 at Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenune, Hilton, with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 pm. A private Graveside Service will take place in Parma Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
