Obituary of Robert R. Gates

Hilton - Robert R. Gates, "Bob", passed away on August 21, 2024 at the age of 84.  He is survived by his loving companion, Jean Burke; the mother of his children, Genevieve; his children, Maureen Gates, David Gates, Kathie (Thomas) Straub; his siblings, William (Karen) Gates, Tom Gates, C. Michael Gates, and Sue (Mark) Davis; his grandchildren, Daniel (Taylor) Gates, Natalie Straub, and Kaitlyn Straub; his sisters-in-law, Jane Gates and Pam (Terry Hickey) Gates; and his nieces and nephews.  Robert was predeceased by his parents, Warren and Arlene Gates; and his brothers, Richard, James and John Gates.

Bob had a Master's Degree from RIT.  He retired from Eastman Kodak Co. where he was an Engineer.  He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the American Legion.  In his leisure, he enjoyed deer hunting and snowmobiling.  He will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., 735 East Avenue, Hilton.  Interment will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:30 am at the Garland Cemetery, 7743 West Ridge Road, Brockport, NY 14420.
