Obituary of Christian J. Klafehn

Hamlin - Christian J. Klafehn passed away on December 7, 2023 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Elsie Klafehn. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia "Pat" Klafehn; his children, Steve Klafehn and Tim (Nancy) Klafehn; and his grandchildren, Christian, Elizabeth, and Jonathan.  

Christian was retired from Rochester Products where he worked as an Inspector. He was a graduate of Hilton High School where he was later employed as a custodian for many years following his retirement. He grew up on a dairy farm and worked with his father and grandfather. For many years previous, Chris served as the president of the Eastern District Lutheran Laymen's League. He was a member of the Walker Fire Department for 50 years. He was also a member of the Western New York Two Cylinder Club in which he was active with his son. He loved gardening, and in his leisure he enjoyed tent camping and camping in his travel trailer. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend Christian's Funeral Service on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Batavia, 31 Washington Avenue, Batavia, NY 14020. Interment in Garland Cemetery.
