Obituary of Ruth B. Floyd

Hilton - Ruth B. Floyd passed away on March 8, 2023 at the age of 97.  Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Louie and Helen Bennett; her husband of 60 years, Robert A. Floyd; her sister, Betty Willard; her brother, Robert Bennett; her son, Ronald Floyd; and her daughter-in-law, Karen Floyd.  She is survived by her sons, Rick (Robin) Floyd and Robert (Karen Titus) Floyd; her grandchildren, David (Alison), Dorothy (Marius), Daniel, Donna Ruth (Nyambe), Debbie (Andrew), Ben (Christina), Jim (Alea), Serena (Adam), and Merlin; her great-grandchildren, Evan, Abigail, Makaila, Zemira, Ezekiel, Melchiz, Zinnia, Spencer, Russell, Lilly and Annabelle; her sister-in-law, Joan Wyland; and her nieces and nephews.

Ruth grew up in Spencerport, moving to Hilton after her marriage to Robert.  She worked for many years as a Dental Hygienist for Dr. Shulman and others.  She was a member of the Hilton Baptist Church for 74 years.  During the 1950's and 1960's, Ruth was active in charity work such as with The March of Dimes, Vacation Bible School and with the Hilton Fire Department Auxiliary.  She enjoyed reading and playing cards, and was active in her bridge club into her 90's.  Ruth and Bob spent many years in an antique auto club and enjoyed touring in their car.  We will all miss seeing her on her front porch on warm days, watching Hilton go by.  Mostly, Ruth loved spending time with her family and will be missed dearly.

No prior calling.  Family and friends are invited to attend Ruth's Funeral Service on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Hilton Baptist Church, 50 Lake Ave, Hilton.  The Celebration of Ruth's Life will continue with a reception in the Lloyd Room, following her service.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Parma Union Cemetery.
