To the Family of Barbara 'Basia' Korpal,
Walt and I would like to express our sincerest condolences on the loss of your dear Basia. She was a one of a kind force to be reckoned with: a highly intelligent, competent, quick-witted and gutsy woman! The City of Rochester was so lucky to have her as an employee and I was blessed to be her co-worker and friend. A lunch date with Barb was guaranteed to be entertaining and enlightening. I am so sorry she had to leave us so soon! Take comfort in knowing that Basia is Resting in Peace in Heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Barbara was a wonderful, strong individual with a rambunctious laugh that would just light up the area. As a friend and my work mentor, I truly enjoyed her powerful, outgoing personality. I hope the family finds some form of comfort knowing the wonderful impact she had at the 311 Call Center. Barbara, you will be missed.
Barbie, you were a character. I'll miss you coming into my office, hands on hips, and saying: "So what's going on?"
You would have made a great investigative reporter. You always wanted to get the scoop on everything.
And when I didn't give you a concise, yet comprehensive response, you would wave your index finger in front of my nose and exclaim: "Pete, why do you always answer my questions with a question". At this point I usually burst out laughing, which would result in you putting your hands on you hips and shaking your head from side to side. I did so enjoy our little conversations.
I must however give you your due. You were one smart cookie, you knew your stuff and were very competent, capable and reliable. You and your lady friends ran the City. No doubt about it ! Any time I need something I came to you guys.
I'm so glad that you and your girlfriends got to travel and see the world. What special group you all were.
I'll miss you Barbie. You were an original.
Rest in peace.
Your pal, Pete Scott
May Basia's legacy of living life to the fullest live on in her beautiful family left behind with treasured memories. Rest in eternal peace - and in the lap of luxury like only Basia could do!
To all of Barbs family I offer my sincerest sympathy for your loss. Barb was a co-worker and a dear friend. We shared many laughs and good times. I will miss her so much. RIP my friend.
