Obituary of Gene Hale Hankey

Hilton - Gene H. Hankey passed away on July 18, 2021 at the age of 84.  He is survived by his wife Carol (Henchen) Hankey; his children, James (Margaret) Hankey, Donna Scorse and Thomas (Julia) Hankey; his grandchildren, Michele, Harry, Charles Jr., Katie, Jessica, and Matthew; his great-grandchildren, Maytum, Brexton, Emma, Evelyn, Maggie, Henry, Hunter, and Gracie; and his brother-in-law, David Henchen. Gene was predeceased by his brother, George Hankey and his sister, Anna Clark. 

Gene retired from work as a Mechanic for Duffy Motts and the Genesee Brewery. In his leisure he enjoyed listening to country music, boating, traveling in his RV to Florida, gambling at Batavia Downs and casinos and playing his favorite game, "Stinking Rich", hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and his truck. 

Family and friends are invited to call Monday, July 26, 2021 from 12 - 2 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton. Gene's Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at Riverside Cemetery, 2650 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612, at 2:30 pm followed by entombment.
