Obituary of Lawrence Curtis

Lawrence Curtis passed away on August 12, 2020, at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife, Roxanne; his children, Patrick (Katie) Curtis and Rachel (fiance Eric Christoffersen); and his brother, Gerald Curtis of Oregon.

Larry was a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he was a Fuel Systems Mechanic, and served in Vietnam. He retired from General Motors where he worked in the Plating Dept., among others. He held a Brown Belt in Isshin Ryu Karate and was an avid weight lifter. He played the accordion professionally and taught himself to play the acoustic guitar, both of which brought him great joy.

Larry enjoyed antique cars and owned a 1929 Ford Model A, which he drove around occasionally. He also owned a 1949 Ford Truck which was a "failed fixer upper".  And he had a 1949 Model A truck which had been modified into a fun kind of tractor.

Larry also loved his German Shepherds from Sheba (our first), through several others. Most recently, Norma. He and Norma were inseparable.

Friends may call on Monday, August 17th from 4 - 7 PM at THOMAS E. BURGER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 735 East Avenue in Hilton.  Larry's Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 18th at 11 AM at St. Mark's Church, Greece. Please remember to follow all CDC guidelines, including wearing masks.

Interment will be private at Holy Ghost Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veteran's Outreach Center, 447 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 or a charity of your choice in Larry's memory.
