Ruth always had stories. Thanks for sharing some of them here with us Eric. I remember hearing every one of them from her directly.
A few things to add. First of all a warm expression of gratitude for having Ruth in my life for so many years (almost 30 years). She was always willing to share her experience, strength and hope (and opinions!) With so many and especially the younger of us that crossed her path.
She loved her trips to Pennsylvania, and one to New York City a few years back where she had never been before.
She was proud of the socks she knitted so wonderfully, especially when they were entered in the New York State Fair, winning first place I think.
One story she enjoyed telling over and over again was about dressing up for Halloween, and her and a friend going around to the neighbors with their wine glasses, demanding they be filled but not saying who they were.
She became a Red Hatter later in life and enjoyed the monthly gatherings with friends doing many different things together.
She always said that she was on her own, not alone.
Miss you Ruth.
Dear Eric and Family. My Heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your Mom. I only met "Aunt Ruth" three times, the last being the calling hours for my husband, David, but I remember her as a very gracious, friendly lady with a beautiful smile. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this most difficult time. Noreene Pearl-Stahlecker
My sympathy & prayers to Rith's family. She was a very dear friend & wonderful lady.
May she rest in peace.
