Obituary of Margaret Dorothy Speer

North Greece - Margaret "Peggy" Speer passed away peacefully on November 12, 2019 at age 93. Born in Rochester, she was the only daughter to Ernest and Edith Taylor.

She is predeceased by her husband  of 48 years, Kermit Speer. Together, they built a life focused on family, friendship, faith, community and travel. She is survived by their four children Steve, Brian, and twins, Larry and Linda. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, who brought her much joy.

Peggy is known to many for working in the attendance office at Hilton High School. She was an active member of the Downtown Presbyterian Church where she served as both a Deacon and volunteered with the Joy Class program. She also spent a lot of time volunteering in the Cancer Unit at General Hospital. Peggy was an avid painter, reader, Yankees fan and a fierce opponent in the game of Scrabble. She made sure to keep up on current events in the news and enjoyed checking in with her family and friends through Facebook. It was very important to her that she expressed her love through her personalized greeting cards. She has left an indelible mark on those who knew her and she will be deeply missed.
