My little sister told me tonight about Jeff's passing so I wanted to reach out to you -- family, life partner -- and send my condolences. I hope all your happy/loving memories help you through this rough time.
Jeff was a childhood friend and we lost touch after high school. It looks and sounds like he had a good life and I am glad to hear that.
Jeff and I would meet over at Whalen's Grocery Store in Parma/Hilton when we were teenagers and talk and talk and talk about all kinds of things, tell each other jokes, and dreams of our futures.
To some this may not seem funny, it is one of my biggest memories with him, but to Jeff and I we laughed about it for a long, long time -- the deep belly laugh that makes your muscles hurt afterwards, then you laugh more just because it's still funny and that goes on for a while. It was one of those moments. One day we were standing there on the side of the store, under the roof overhang, talking and one of the birds that was perching up there let loose and it landed in his hair. SPLAT! We looked at each other for several long seconds in disbelief and then burst out laughing, stopped and then looked at each other and started all over again with the laughing. I always appreciated his sense of humor in things.
I wish him well on his next journey...
Love to you all,
Sally Heath
