Condolences
I first met Tom while I worked in the Cashier’s Office at SMH and Tom in Parking Office (1993ish). Tom was a regular every afternoon in dropping Parking’s deposit at the office. Always had a smile on his face (as has been mentioned by every person that connected with Tom). Our paths crossed throughout the years as both Tom and I moved on to different departments but seemed the same ‘business’… and again, had a smile with a ‘Hello’ that would be followed by your name. Our paths crossed again last summer into the beginning of this year while I was at Rochester Tech Park. Tom would check in on the group I was with and ask if anyone needed help, if there were issues, etc. It was a pleasure to work with an know Tom.. and he will be extremely missed.
Thinking of you all in these difficult times and sending you love. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Tom was a wonderful uncle to the girls and such an amazing, genuine person all around. My prayers are with you all at this time.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Tom's passing. He was our IT guy at RTP and it was a pleasure to know him. He always had a smile that could brighten any day. He always took the time to stop and say hello, check in to see if everything was ok. He is going to be missed. My deepest sympathy to the family.
I would like to send my deepest condolences to the family and close friends. I worked with Tom at UR and he was such a sweetheart. He was always willing to help me with anything! He was a joy to work with and I so appreciated him most days because he was just a willing participant to get things done. Thank you for allowing me to share his life by working with me.
I am extremely saddened to hear of Tom's passing. Working with Tom was a pleasure and I always knew he would get to the bottom of any problem with kindness. His smile and presence will be truly missed. Keeping Tom's friends and family in my thoughts through this difficult time. -Erin Jackson UR Medicine.
Tom, the world is a less wonderful place with your larger than life heart no longer on this earth. Thank you for your kindness, your mirth, your stories, and your support. Your spirit touched so many and I am glad to have had the opportunity to meet you. Hopefully, you have met my brothers in heaven and they can get to know you and appreciate everything that makes you so special.
I will always remember T-Ski's HUGE smile that lit up his face! Skating at USA and Horizon, going to dance clubs until they shut down. His signature dance moves like the fisherman! He never let anything bother him and always had a positive outlook on life. Although many years have passed since I last saw him, I will always consider him a dear friend. I'm sure that he will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to know him.

I have known Tom for several years while working at the Medical Center. Through my work with IT in Orthopaedics, I would cross paths with Tom regularly. We became good friends. As so many others have said, his smile was infectious. His friendliness was there for all to see. He was as kind and as gentle of a person as one will ever find in this life. He certainly touched my life, and he will be missed.
My deepest sympathy to your family. Like many others, I worked with Tom and no matter how busy he was he always had a smile on his face and willing to help out. He will be missed by many.
My heart goes out to the entire family at large. I've work with Thomas here at U OR R and he always brighten my day with his smile. I called him the IT Teddy Bear. He was simply an amazing friend. Whenever he came into my department he made sure to stop by and say hello. This was surely a very special Man that God had created to be a blessing to others, Praying for you all.

My memories of Tommy will always be of his smile and the friendship that I had with him over the years. He was a friend that was always there when needed. Tom never expected anything in return and always did things from his heart. Anyone that knew him and called him a friend are saddened by his untimely passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, his family, during this difficult time.
May God be with you now
As you face this time of grief,
May you know the comfort of the Lord
In your darkest hour of need
Know that Jesus cares for you
When your soul is deeply pained
No matter what you may go through,
His love for you remains.

Rest in Peace Tom and God bless you. Tom , I did not get the chance to let you know again how much I appreciated your assistance and guidance that you showed me at work when I was starting out in ISD. I always felt at ease when you were around because I knew that no matter what questions I had, and they were plenty back then, you always were calm and informative. Tom thank you,, prey for us.
Tom was one of the nicest, kindest, people I had the pleasure to work with at the U of R. Not only did he help with all of our IT issues, he would gladly listen and help when I would ask him about my home pc or tablet. He never hesitated to listen, and offer up some good advice which made me feel like he was a friend. I will miss seeing him walk around the office, it just will not be the same. My thoughts are with the family.
Tom you were a good man with a big heart. The RIM team will miss you, we already do. Rest in peace.

I was a co-worker of Tom's for a few years. I will miss his willingness to help out whenever needed. He always went above and beyond to be friendly to everyone he interacted with. Most of all, I will miss his smile. He always had a smile whenever I saw him.

Tom was our IT man at RTP. I can't begin to tell you how important he was to all of us here. No matter what the issue was, all we had to do was text him and we would see his reply "I'm on my way." As a matter of fact, he had just stopped by my desk Tuesday afternoon, took a picture of a screw that was missing from my scanner and told me that he was going to go to the hardware store to see if they had the screw. I have been waiting for the screw for over 3 weeks and he was going to fix that scanner for me! He was the nicest guy! He will be truly missed. I went to Holy Thursday mass last night, and I offered the mass up for Tom. God bless his soul. I know he rests in our Lord's arms now.
I worked with Tom for a number of years at URMC. He supported the HIM department for many years and our whole team truly enjoyed working with Tom. He was the most helpful and considerate person. He just recently helped me with a computer problem and he shared with me about, his girlfriend, Stella. His face lit up when he was talking about her and how he looked forward to being with her again. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this incredibly sad time.
There was never a time he walked by me and didn't say my name and hello, that meant a great deal to me. R.I.P you will be truly missed.

To the Smith family:
I am very sorry and hurt to hear of Tommy's passing. I remember him as a kind and compassionate person. I am very saddened by the news. I wish you all comfort during this difficult time.
I've been Tommy's manager for the past several years. I'm shocked and saddened by his passing. Over the years he has been a consistent go to for everyone on the team, customers and others in our department. His positive attitude was constant and smile infectious. Many members of our desktop team, department and organization have come forward to share wonderful memories of their interactions and time with Tom. I can't express how overwhelmingly popular Tom was here at URMC. There will forever be a void in our team and our hearts. Prayers to his family, church family and work family.
Tommy will be truly missed. As part of the Desktop Team here at URMC, he has left a huge void which cannot be filled. Such a genuinely friendly person to all. We will take a little piece of Tom with us and pay if forward. Prayers to his family during this time.
I will always have great memories of Tom and his smile and laughing.
He showed me the ropes when I arrived at URMC and I could not have asked for a better friend.
He will be missed immensely.
Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
I was saddened to learn of Tom's passing. He was always there to answer my computer related questions and always had a smile on his face. Tom never forgot to get back to me. Tom's memory will live on forever.
We all loved Tom. His smile warmed our hearts every day.
Sadly, I have only had the pleasure of knowing Tom for a year since starting at the U of R but he is someone I will fondly remember. Tom was one of the kindest, giving and compassionate men I have ever known. I will miss our late afternoon chats when on his way over to his late busy day lunches. I will be going to the Cohocton area this fall in memory of Tom- he talked so passionately about his times there bringing his mom to the annual Craft Event. I hope he knows how well he was liked and will be missed here. Rest in peace good man, I am honored to have met you.

Whenever confronted with an IT problem I couldn't resolve, I knew contacting Tom would resolve the issue quickly.
Everyone had full confidence in Tom. His approach was consistently professional, thorough, and friendly. Tom will be missed both for his technical abilities and his fine character.
Anne & Family,
There are so few comforting words when we need them most. Anne, I met you once at the Mt. Hope diner when you and Tom were having breakfast just a month ago! I have no idea what you must be going through in losing a son, but please know he was an amazing person, always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Always greeted you with a smile on his face. He will truly be missed by all he touched. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will truly miss Tom. He was always helpful, friendly, and smiling! Tom was never too busy to say hello and he was always willing to help. URMC, and Info Systems Division especially, has lost one of the good guys. Rest in peace, Tom.

We have many fond memories of Tom through the Cursillo movement in Rochester. Please accept our condolences on your loss of this very kind, thoughtful and loving servant of our Lord.
Tom had a heart of gold. I had the pleasure of calling him my friend in my late teens and twenties. We would sing and dance every time we were together The laughter was never ending. He loved to dance! He always smiled. He was never angry, never held a grudge he always just wanted to be there for everyone. The last time we hung out was with me and my husband Andy at the renaissance festival. We had a blast. I saw Tom a few months back shopping and it was if no time had passed at all. I am very sorry for all of your family, friends and co workers. There are not a lot of genuinely nice and caring people in this world anymore. You my friend were one of them.
My deepest sympathy to Tom's Family. We were friends for a very long time and he stood up in my wedding many years ago. He had the best smile and we had great conversations.
He will be truly missed by all.
Much love and prayers
Mary Byrne
To all that knew Tom please rest assured of the prayers and support of many for the grief we all share in his passing. He was a man who traveled far and wide to spread God's love to everyone he met especially to his girlfriend in China. This relationship was a true source of joy for him and we mourn with Stella over her loss. May God continue to bless us with his light as we attempt to imitate the brightness exhibited in his servant Tom. Godspeed my friend and may the angels sing loudly for your homecoming! Until we meet again we will miss you terribly.
