Condolences
Dear Laurie, Pete, Alana, and family members,
How fortunate I was to work with Bob for one year at Buckman! He was a wonderful man, friend, and teacher. It looks like Bob enjoyed his life, and his family and dogs meant so much to him. May your fond memories of Bob and knowing that he was important to so many people ease your pain as you grieve.
Sincerely,
Barb Hand
Laurie -
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I hope the joyful memories of your time together bring you comfort.

Dear Uncle Bob,
You were the cool uncle that drove cool cars: a VW Thing, an MG sports car, and a '53 Oldsmobile.
You were the cool uncle that taught 6th graders and took them camping in the summer. And painted houses between school years.
You were the cool uncle that lived near the water in an A-frame and owned a big boat. And had an old refrigerator with a keg in it and a tap in the door.
You were the cool uncle that reveled in bald jokes, no matter how many times they were repeated at your expense. And watched football with one eye open while you snoozed after the Thanksgiving meal.
You were the cool uncle that got married by Fr. Froggy to your lovely bride. And partied afterward on a paddle boat in the river to song and merriment.
You were the cool uncle that lit up our lives whenever we saw you at holidays or in the summer. Who gave us all nicknames and kept us in stitches with your jokes. And gave us presents wrapped in a paper bag.
You were the cool uncle with two wonderful children and a terrific wife.
You were the cool uncle, always thoughtful, caring and kind.
We love you and we will miss you. But you will always be in our hearts.

RIP Bob! You were 1 fabulous person!! You were a great mentor to me & helped me learn all the ropes of the best way to work with 6th graders. We had some wonderful times teaching together & special fun with trips like taking 120 students to Massachusetts for a whale watch & many other great experiences on Sigma 6th grade team at Arcadia Middle. Great teacher, great person & most of all--Great friend!! You will be greatly missed by all the people you affected over many years!! My deepest condolences to all your family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Amis’ family.
I remember well my 6th grade class trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Also having him as my home room teacher in 79/80, Iremember our class mascot, his black lab named Chien. He would make his way to the classroom long before Mr. Amis did.
He was an awesome teacher and will be remembered fondly.
