Obituary of Shirley T. Radford

Shirley T. Radford
November 9, 1928 – October 27, 2025

It is with profound love and cherished memories that the family of Shirley Twentymon Radford, age 96, announces her passing on October 27, 2025.

Born on November 9, 1928, Shirley was the beloved daughter of Wilbur and Ellamae Twentymon. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert George “Raddy” Radford; her brother, Robert (Kay) Twentymon; her sisters, Alice (Louis) Rodger and Clara (John) Stiles; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Shirley is survived by her son, Lee (Wendy) Radford, and daughter, Jill Radford Gilmore; grandchildren, Justin (Stacey) Radford, Jamie (Darren) McKee, Sarah Stone (Bryant Tranchant), and Laura (Mike) Salter; and great-grandchildren, Haven, Michael, and Everly Salter; Charlie (Ericka Mendoza) McKee, Dylan and Brody Fitzgerald, and Eleanor, Etta, and Elijah Radford. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, George Radford, and sister-in-law, Patricia (Joe Sigmund) Huber.

Shirley found joy in life’s adventures and simple pleasures — dancing, tending her beautiful yard, gardening flowers, traveling to Florida, Las Vegas, and even Australia, and enjoying a fun trip to the casino. She was always willing to lend a hand on the family farm during planting season. Shirley was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

For 40 years, while the family owned and operated Beehler & Radford Excavating, Shirley was known as “the heart and soul of the business.” She kept the day-to-day operations running smoothly and was truly the glue that held everything together.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3rd from 4 - 7 pm at Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton, followed by words of reflection by her son, Lee on his mother's life. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Parma Corners Cemetery.

A special thank you to the staff of Rochester Regional Hospice, including Angela and Joelle; and to the staff at Evergreen who provided loving care to our mom.
