Obituary of Jo Ann Dargusch

Rochester - Jo Ann Dargusch passed away on June 11, 2025 at the age of 78.  She was predeceased by her husband, Roger; their son, Adam Dargusch; her parents, Joseph and Rose Brizzi; her sisters, Shirley (Nicholas) Buonemani and Kathy (Phil) McCaskill; her daughter-in-law, Wanda Dargusch; and her step-son, Daniel Dargusch.  She is survived by her children, Laura (Michael Alley) Elia, Matthew Dargusch, Kim Packard, Claire Needham, Lynda Dargusch, Larry Dargusch, and Janet Tanner; her grandchildren, Julianna Rose, Michael, Shauna, James, Cassandra, Jamie, Michelle, Joshua, Crystal, Jonathon, Jennifer, Shawn, Christina, and Catherine; 19 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Grace Spencer, Dorothy Manuse, Joseph (Robin) Brizzi, Linda Mauldin, Maryann (Michael) Weis, Rose Gay, Gloria (David) Cooper, Michael (Laurie) Brizzi, Diane (Jerry) Read, and Susan (Milt) Cummings; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  

Jo Ann was the owner of Jo's Superior Services in Hilton, NY.  She loved her family dearly and cherished her role as Nana to her beloved granddaughter, Julianna. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing card games with her sisters, sharing laughter and camaraderie, and occasionally visiting the casino for a bit of fun. She had a sweet tooth and delighted in her favorite sweets and a good cup of coffee. She was happiest with a big steak in front of her and an occasional whiskey sour. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many memorable trips with her children, creating lasting memories. Additionally, she dedicated her time and energy running the bingos for the Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Her warmth, love, and lively spirit, Christmas cookies and meatballs will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., 735 East Avenue, Hilton, where her Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 pm.  Interment in Holy Ghost Cemetery at a later date.  The family invites everyone to a luncheon at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 75 Stutson Street, in Charlotte, NY.
