Obituary of Catherine E. Plane

Rochester - Catherine E. Plane passed away on March 23, 2025 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her husband, Steven; and her parents, Frank "Bud" and Marion Schwalb. She is survived by her children, Barbara (Eric) Knitis and Christopher Plane; her grandchildren, Nicole Knitis, Gabby, Maggie, Anders, and Sam Plane, and Alex (Skylar) Jagodowski; her sister, Mary Schwalb; her brother, Nicholas (Jacqueline) Schwalb; and her nieces and nephews.

Catherine was a caregiver to her family. In her youth, she attended Nazareth Academy and then Nazareth College. She was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and was a consumate volunteer for her school, church, family and the community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton.  Catherine's Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 4492 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery immediately following the mass.
