Condolences
Even though I probably only met Uncle Jim a half dozen times in my life, and each time only for a few hours, he was always upbeat, quick to laugh and enjoy the moment!
My first memory of Uncle Jim was when he came home, fresh out of the Marine Corps (1965ish?). He was pure muscle, solid as a rock! It was probably the first time we ever met. He put out a great vib and none of us were afraid of him.
So, naturally, my brothers and I had to attack him like a pack of wild animals, and we had a great time wrestling! He tossed us around like we were 5 pound bags of sugar. Good times! The kind of roughhousing every boy needs!
I remember him as a great comfort to Gramma Elliott when Ray (Grampa) died.
Uncle Jim coming back to Hilton was a blessing to my Aunt Bev and her daughters: Susan, Sandy, Sharon, and Charlene. Aunt Bev and Uncle Jim were not just siblings, but also seemed to be best friends. Aunt Bev was another family member who was always seemed up for a laugh. I know that Uncle Jim considered Susan, Sandy, Sharon, and Charlene to be the children he never had. Reciprocal love! Good deal for Uncle Jim and the girls! I suspect Uncle Jim became a Grandfather figure for Aunt Beverly's grandchildren.
Uncle Jim was a good man who led a good life! Rest in Peace!
Shocking so fast will miss him dearly as he was always there. Kindness and compassion he was the best man I ever knew. My uncle was a person with few words but full of fun.
I am heartbroken and praying for him and all family and friends
Our prayers and condolences to the family. He was a good friend and a special soul.
My deepest condolences to Jim’s family and friends. I am a cousin from his father’s side, and I was so happy to finally connect with Jim a couple of years ago. May he RIP.
