Hilton - Ellen Susan (Sisson) Nealon, "Sue", was born on Aug. 16, 1946 in New London, Connecticut, and died on January 2, 2022 in Hilton, NY after a courageous battle with a terminal illness. Sue was predeceased by her father, Joseph J. Sisson; her mother, Helen T. Carroll; her brothers, Joseph and Daniel Sisson; and her grandson, Jacob Aeckerle. Survived by her loving husband of over 52 years, Don; her children, Jennifer (Don) Kohler, Kristine Nealon and Michael Nealon; her brother, Steven (Marj) Sisson; her sisters, Theresa (Mike) Van Strien; Kathleen Sisson, Laurie (Deb Picciano) Sisson; her grandson, Hunter Kohler; several nieces and nephews. Also survived by her in-laws, Jim (Mary) Nealon, Paul (Claudia) Nealon, Kathy (Jerry) Neu, Bob (Cathy) Nealon, Therese (Kevin) Bishop, Beth (Lou) Mink, John (Judy) Nealon; and nieces, nephews, and relatives of the Nealon-Foos-Laniak-Vay-Burke-Sisson families.
Sue attended Holy Cross and Mother of Sorrows grammar schools and graduated from Hilton Central High School. She was employed by Eastman Kodak Co., Klock Oil Co. and Rochester Cassette. After raising her children, Sue renewed her secretarial and business courses and then trained and became an EMT-D with Greece Volunteer Ambulance and the Hilton Fire Department. Sue enjoyed life to the fullest, participating in sports, the out-doors, gardening, her pursuit of photography, family vacations, her pets and attending the sporting and scholastic events of her children and grandchildren. Sue was a devout Catholic, regularly attending weekly services.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2-5 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton. Sue's Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 9:30 am at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N Greece Rd, Rochester, NY 14626, followed by a private interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sue's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Sue's memory. Donations are greatly appreciated.
