Obituary of Stanley Pogroszewski

Clarkson: Age 87 years, passed away peacefully July 26, 2015. Stanley was predeceased by his wife Frances; parents, Stanislaw and Wladyslawa Pogroszewski; sister, Genevieve Wroblewski and nephew Glenn Cardinal. He is survived by his companion Joan Allen; children, Patricia (Stanley) Galinski of Clarkson, Donna (Maureen Viel) Pogroszewski of Clarkson, Stanley (Dean Beals) Pogroszewski of NYC, Nadine Pogroszewksi of Charleston, SC and Alan (Jennifer) Pogroszewski of Clarkson; 11 grandchildren, Joseph (Tara) Merino of Hilton, Eileen (Mark) Thrall of Spencerport, Robert (Jill) Galinski of Rochester, Heather (Shane) Camman of Clarkson, Amber (Kendall) Chapman of San Diego, CA, Meagan and Anna Stockman of Charleston, SC, Ephram, Frances, Noah and Josef Pogroszewski of Clarkson; 11 great grandchildren, Gabriella, Sofia, Ashley, Paul, Roman, Audrey, Ryan, Bridget, Olivia, Margaret, and Quinn; goddaughter Christine Cardinal; brothers-in-law, Joseph Doherty and Richard Dumont; sister-in-law, Lucille Doherty; several nieces and nephews. Stanley graduated from Cornell University in 1950 with a degree in Economics and enjoyed his occupation as a farmer as well as in the field of finance (Lincoln First Bank, Agway and Telmark Leasing). Stanley served as Clarkson Town Justice for 33 years. After retirement he volunteered at Lakeside Memorial Hospital for 25 years. He is a current member of U.S. Magistrates Association, Knights of Columbus-Spencerport, Lions Club-Brockport, Elks Club-Bradenton, FL., Pi Kappa Phi – Cornell University and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church – Hamlin. In addition to enjoying time with family and friends, his interests included golfing, stamp collecting and gardening. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 – 7 PM at Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Ave., Hilton and are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Interment will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stanley’s name to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3747 Brock Schoolhouse Road, P.O. Box 149, Hamlin, NY 14464 OR to the Brockport or Hamlin Lions Club.
