Obituary of Billie D. Kohlbecker

Billie D. Kohlbecker passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2017 at the age of 89. Billie was born in Springfield, Illinois. She married Eugene E. Kohlbecker on June 10, 1950. They spent their early married life in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah. The family moved to Jacksonville, Illinois in 1964. After her children left home, she was an Administrative Assistant at Mac Murray College, both in the Bookstore and the Physical Plant. She moved to Hilton in 1989 to be close to her family. Billie was a long-time member of the Episcopal Church and served many years as a member of both the vestry and altar guild. She was a 55-year member of the PEO Sisterhood, where she supported the on-going advancement of women's education. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid card player. Billie enjoyed her bridge club- particularly when she won the quarter! Now reunited with her husband, Billie is survived by their two children, Eugene Kohlbecker, Jr. and Karel Jennings (Carl), both of Hilton, and her grandchildren, Katie Dahl (Brian) of Gales Ferry, Connecticut and William Weiner (and friend Katie Breed) of Clay, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Rose Mary and William Doake, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and James Seolas. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who will be remembered for her determined spirit and the love that she had for her family. A service will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church in Hilton, on Saturday, March 11th, at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Jacksonville, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, 635 Old Wilder Road, Hilton, NY 14468 or Lifetime Care 3111 South Winton Rd., Rochester, NY 14623.
